Did Netflix do the same jobs for consumers that Blockbuster did? How did this evolve overtime?When Netflix first began, it did not do the same job for consumers as Blockbuster did, it created a web-based DVD rental program with no-hassle customer service. Their service was quick and easy for customers by using online applications and penalty-free cancellation. They offered things that the brick and mortar, Blockbuster did not such as a movie preference database and 24/7-customer service. As online functionality grew and people became more apt to switch to online DVD rental, the movie selection that Netflix offered became the largest database of titles. Their titles included numerous genres, release dates and country of origins. Netflix also implemented VOD on demand so customers could enjoy instant entertainment.
