The passages from the bible that argued for the use of force by Christians are: Romans 13:1 – “Let every soul be subject to power and authority, for there is no power but from God. The power that is everywhere is ordained of God. He then who resists the power resists God’s ordinance. But he who resists God’s ordinance shall bring himself under condemnation”. 1 Peter 2:13-14 – “Be subject to every kind of human ordinance, whether to the king as supreme, or to the governors, as to those sent of Him for the punishing of the evil and for the reward of the good.” Genesis 9:6 – “Whose sheds man’s blood, his blood shall be shad again by man.” Exodus 21:14 – “If a man presumptuously kill thou shalt take him from My altar that he may die.” Exodus 21: 23 – “A life for a life, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, a foot for a foot, a hand for a hand, a wound for a wound, a bruise for a bruise.” Matthew 26: 52 – “He that taketh the sword shall perish by the sword.”
