Hello, over the past few weeks, a few students have run into problems submitting files through handin. Their assignments *looked* like they'd been submitted, but the actual file contents had been destroyed. Since this looked like it was going to be a persistent issue, I exchanged a few e-mails with the CSE systems manager. We came up with the following recommendations for future use: 1. Keep your results file fairly small. Handin doesn't do well with files more than a megabyte or two in size. If you scan in your work, try to find a low resolution that's still readable. 2. Do not put space in the names of any files you submit. Handin will lose track of the file.

Unformatted text preview: As an example, "DoeResults.pdf" should work, but "Doe Results.pdf" will not. 3. Verify that your that results file has been correctly submitted using the handin web interface. If you can download the file from handin and open it, it's probably okay. There are instructions on how to use the web interface online at http://secure.cse.msu.edu/handin/howto.html 4. If you simply can't get your results file to submit properly, e-mail it either to me or to your instructor. Hopefully, the first couple guidelines should be enough to keep this problem from happening to anyone again. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. Regards,- Greg...
