phys 122, midterm 1 topic review Hello. Lets talk about the format of the test: 1. it will be in class, 50 minutes long. 2. you are expected to bring in a single page of handwriten notes. (one sided) no equation sheet will be provided. 3. the contents of this exam cover things covered in the class and tutorial up to the end of assignment 3 (which will not be due for another week). 4. you can bring in any calculator, but no internet connection will be per- mitted. the exam will have long answer questions, as well as short answer questions or multiple choice questions. I will also provide you with a practice test. 1 topics 1. Forces on energy on point charges from the coulomb law (chapter 14) (a) the forces between electric charges, and how polarizing a material can create a force between a charged particle and a neutrally charged object. (b) the coulomb force vector on a single charged particle from another single charged particle (c) the coulomb force vector on a single charged particle from a distri- bution ofcharged particle (d) the potential energy between two charged particles (e) using the difference in potential energy to calculate the change in kinetic energy (f) the potential energy from a distribution of charged particles.
