ECG/EKG Function of the Heart (Ex. 33) Pulse points (a way to measure heartbeat) o Temporal right over top of temples o Facial found towards angle of jaw o Common carotid neck o Brachial o Radial o Femoral inner thigh o Popliteal back of the knee o Anterior Tibial shin o Posterior Tibial o Dorsal Tibial Auscultation areas o Where you listen for heart sounds the valves are the source of the noise o S1 = Lubb – AV Valves Right side second rib space Can be heard the best o S2 = Dupp – SL Valves o Bicuspid valve (left) and tricuspid (right side) inbetween ribs 5 and 6 Blood Vessels and Blood Pressure (Ex. 38)
