She did so by computing the mean value of people’s answers to question Q12 of the survey. The mean value she thus obtained is 4.2, which leads her to conclude that the average age of the respondents to the survey is between 30 and 34. Do you agree with her approach? Briefly explain. I disagree with this approach. Her approach is wrong because the question is based on an ordinal scale. A ranking scale in which numbers are assigned to objects to indicate the relative extent to which some characteristic is possessed. Since, the question was based on an ordinal scale, it is not possible to compute the average age of the respondents to the survey. However, computing the median is possible. 2.
