Eric Hazenson Religion 200 04/22/08 Reflection Paper IV: Deepening Our Beliefs in a Culture of Religious Pluralism Many different people and experiences have combined to help shape, guide, and influence me in the beliefs that I now hold. Some of which occurred when I was younger but the most powerful have all happened since just before high school. I started going to Bible camp and Sunday school before beginning kindergarten where I first encountered the Bible and the core beliefs of the Christian faith. Growing up my family attended church on a regular basis two times a week, and volunteered often, however I never felt profoundly religious or even confident in the existence of God, or any supreme being. In fact, for a portion of time in elementary school I believed I was an Atheist. Going to church seemed a colossal waste of my time, boring, and I hated it. It was not until middle school that I truly started to believe in God and attend church of my own accord. While in high school, one of my friends was killed by a drunk driver in an accident and I struggled to cope with her loss. Since I was still more or less forced to go to church with my family I decided to give it a shot and maybe it would help.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
