As shown in the novel Sula byToni Morrison, Children can pick up violence from a parent or guardian at an early age. Peers arealso important in a child's life, therefore, if a child's peers are being aggressive, their actions tendto be imitated. Toni Morrison uses symbolism, imagery and allegory to show how violence hadeffected the characters’ lives. The abundance of violence in Toni Morrison’s Sula is destructiveand calamitous.
