E-commerce can be divided into major types, all with different characteristics that help each business market their goods to their specific consumers. In order for the business to catch the eye of the consumer, strategic advertising is needed. Here is how it works for them.

HOW E-COMMERCE WORKS FOR BUSINESS 2 E-Commerce and How Businesses Make It Work Electronic commerce can be defined as the buying and selling of goods and services, or the transmitting of funds or data, over an electronic network, primarily the internet (Rouse & Cole, 2016). These types of business transactions are part of the e-commerce’s path to profitability by targeting customers just like one would a traditional brick-and-mortar business. Years ago, advertisement budgets were mainly spent in newspapers and magazines, but now that technology has increased advertising has gone in the way of internet ads and allowing to ease transactions between the supplier and consumer (Haag & Cummings, 2013). The benefits of e- commerce include the availability of being open and running at any time, easily accessible, the ability to reach out to customers internationally, and having a broader amount of goods and services to consumers at higher speeds.
