Hybrid or Standard In comparing the value of hybrid cars to that of standard gas only powered vehicles, at this point with current gas prices, I do not feel that the choice to purchase a hybrid is fully valued at this time. Separating the moral obligation to reduce the need of energy, reduce the carbon foot print, and to gain true value, the cost difference of the car teeters on the ultimate cost of gas. This factor would be out of scope for this paper. However, looking into the assignment further and trying to understand the valuation of the two vehicles I have determined that standard vehicles are financially better for the consumer at this time. That determination was taken from the current book values of the 2017 Honda Civic Standard and the 2017 Honda Civic Hybrid. The standard vehicle has a book listing of $18,740.00 and the hybrid has a current book listing of $24,735.00. The difference in the two vehicles calculates at $6,005.00 or a difference of .2423% in favor of the hybrid at a higher price.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
