There are 12 bp between (T4 has 168,903 total bp) …hence no room for a standard promoter but only if the point mutations mapped to the beginning of cistron B are changes in protein coding information (i.e. not promoter mutations!). They are , but we haven't really discussed the experimental data establishing this point (frameshifts and sensitivity to informational suppressors).
