I have 4 glass containers (factor C) each with 200 insects and each having an opening through which a volunteer (factor V) can insert his forearm. I have 3 volunteers. I will use every combination (B,C,V) twice in a completely randomized design. Thus I have 3*4*3*2=72 observations. I'll take a photo 10 seconds after arm insertion and measure Y=number of insects on the arm as my response. (A) (12 pts.) Label factors B________, C________ and V__________ as random or fixed. (B) (20 pts.) The ratio of the mean square for the BCV interaction to the error mean square is F=4.0. How many numerator _______ and denominator _______ degrees of freedom does this F statistic have?
