Page 1 Name _________________________________________ PPD/ISE 508 Fall 2015 Mid Term Exam Available time is 90 minutes (1 & 1/2 hours) although likely less will be needed. Please read this and note that: 1. This test is open book and open notes. A calculator or a computer/laptop can be used if desired. 2. Brief and succinct answers are highly preferred. Brief means a sentence or two. Ignoring this suggestion could lower your grade. 3. Work only on this examination paper. I believe sufficient space is available. If additional space is needed, use the backside of the paper but so note on the front. 4. If calculations are required you must show your work. Write legibly. 5. Please show all your work, if any is necessary, because it is much easier to grant you partial credit if you do. Much of the credit for a question will be given if it is properly and clearly set up. 6. More than one answer may seem correct but only the best answer will receive full credit. 7. A more complex answer than a simple one will receive less credit. Incorrect or unnecessary material with correct material will be deducted. 8. If a problem seems unclear or incomplete and you must make assumptions, note them clearly. This will only be valid if such assumptions are truly necessary. If a problem says to use a particular method, you must use that method. Discussing and making assumptions that are not strictly required will reduce your grade. 9. Terms & words used here should be consistent with the way they are used in the book and lectures. 10. There are 4 pages including this cover. Percentages for problems are below - plan your time accordingly. Good luck!

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
