Running Head: Compromising Strategies2 “In 1949, the United States got involved in the Vietnam conflict to keep communism from spreading throughout Southeast Asia. At first the United States only aided France with military aid and advisors, but after the French suffered a major defeat at Dien Bien Phu in the north-western hills, the French pulled out and the United States took over the burden of the war (Szczepanski, 2016). The United States for years has assisted and worked with other countries to keep human rights equal around the world. In fact, the United States has joined the European Union in keeping human rights in the world from new threats of terrorism. In review, the European Union Counter Terrorism Strategy and the United States 2014-2018 Fiscal Years Strategic Plan have many similarities in meeting the goal of a terrorism free world, but also have conflicts that may become future issues. In the end the world is still learning and communicating to keep the same path on the same threat.
