Duties of the Navigator OPNAVINST 3120.32C Standard Organization and Regulations of the U.S. Navy (SORM) Advise the Commanding Officer and Officer of the Deck as to the ship's movements, and, if the ship is running into danger, as to a safe course to be steered. Train bridge watch standers Report to the CO @ 0800, 1200, and 2000 each day with ship’s position Maintain an accurate plot of the ship's position by celestial, visual, electronic, or other appropriate means.
