Fernando Omegna Rocha Ferreira English 101-012 Professor Misty Thomas 04/02/2008 Colossus “After you have exhausted what there is in business, politics, conviviality, and so on - have found that none of these finally satisfy, or permanently wear - what remains? Nature remains”. Walt Whitman The big boat was crowded with tourists from all over the world. All of them woke up early that morning with a big day ahead of them. It was a chilly day. The clouded sky left little room for the sun. Even though it was in the middle of the summer no one aboard the boat was dressed lightly. The wind made it difficult for people to stand outside the cabin; the ones who did tried to take shelter in one another. The waves invaded the boat, making it a very wet experience for those who dared contemplate the region without foggy windows in front of them. The water was a milky emerald green, a unique hue that is caused by the small crystals of ice that are inside the water. As the boat sailed through the Fjord, small blocks of ice started to float around us.
