David Carr’s article is effective in persuading parents about “Skins” inappropriate content due to emotional appeal; however, it lacks effectiveness through logos in convincing MTV to take down the show because of their large profits. The article is effective in informing parents of inappropriate content because it uses pathos and ethos; however, it is ineffective in persuading MTV not to air inappropriate content because it lacks logos. The text is effective in informing parents of the dangers of the show Skins because of its emotional appeal and credibility through anecdotes and diction; however, it is not effective in persuading MTV its show is harmful to younger viewers because it lacks logical arguments involving money.
