Describe in detail how to measure self diffusion coefficients of solution state molecules by means of pulsed field gradient spin echo (PGSE) experiments. It is basically a spin-echo based sequence that we have described in class. However, we have not discussed in detail how exactly one can use such sequence to measure diffusion coefficients. Use web sites or other literatures as resources to do this homework. 1.1 Draw the pulse sequence. 1.2 Design the details of the experiments by choosing an adequate echo delay, gradient duration and gradient strength for the measurement of the self-diffusion coefficient of water at RT, which is approximately 2·10 -9 m 2 /s. 1.3 Explain what kind of data you would collect, and how you would process the data to actually
