Based on the principles of the SLII model, how would you describe the runners in Group 1? What kind of leadership do they want from David, and what kind of leadership does David seem prepared to give them? When looking at the SLII model, I would say the runners in group 1 have a D1 developmental level. This means they have a low competence level, but are high in commitment. We can see that in the first group of runners they are very committed because they are constantly at practice and excited about the race. Although, they are constantly asking basic questions regarding running and the race that they should already know. This is why I would describe them as a D1 developmental level The leadership I seen in David would have to be an S3 type of leadership. For this group of runners David is very supportive and you can tell that he wants them to do well, but it seems as if he gets annoyed with the questions they are asking. This is when he has a low directive behavior because he is not giving them the advice and wisdom they are looking for. He needs to direct them in the right way in order to be a S2 leader. How would you describe the fit between the runners in Group 2 and David’scoaching style? Discuss. For the second group of runners I would describe them to be D3 developmental level and for David to be a S2 leader. You can tell that the runners in this group show a good level of knowledge and are quite committed. They just need an extra little support and encouragement to make them a D4. I feel with this group of runners David is the most committed as he enjoys giving them advice and encouragement the most. This is because he enjoys giving them the pep talks they need in order to succeed in their race. The experienced runners in Group 3 appear to be a challenge to David. Using SLII, explain why David appears ineffective with this group.I believe that the third group of runners are a challenge for David because they are categorized as D4 runners. It is clear that they are very experienced and have run many marathons before. They probably feel as if they do not need a coach or advice from one because they are experienced in it. David seems to be ineffective with this group because of the experience the runners have. I feel like
