The product from this plant is most commonly known as marijuana. It is a simple, tall plant that has serrated leaves that divide into five or nine lobes. It can easily be grown like any other cultivated plant. Thus, it also has many benefactors when cultivated, like many other plants that we use as raw materials. Mostly hemp has been recognized as possibly useful because it “could be used in textiles, as pulp for building materials and paper, for cooking oil and birdseed, and even as a fuel” (San Marcos Journal). This shows how revolutionary the incorporation of this product would be to our society. However, it is still seen as a dangerous drug that is too harmful to accept and decriminalize. The end result of such product has been widely discussed around the world; it seems to be a never ending discussion between the lawmakers in the government. Many argue whether or not the benefits outweigh the potential damage. If looked into deeply enough, it can be established that marijuana legalization is not just a sensitive topic about whether it should be encouraged or denied, but actually is a window of opportunities that can help us evolve as a population. The idea of legalization of marijuana must be redefned ⏤it is a substance that creates too many solutions to still be considered an illegal danger to society.
