These compositional portions of poetry are beginning to oversaturate poetry and overshadow a very important and originally essential characteristic of this art form. Structure. In "Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night." By Dylan Thomas, the structure accurately breaks up the poem into three-line stanza’s and strategically places repeated phrases to emphasize the necessity of living life to its fullest especially when you are on your way out.The first example of the three-line stanza expressing meaning comes in the very first stanza as it reads, “Old age should burn and rave at close of day;” (line 2 Thomas).
