MODELS OF ABNORMALITY 2 Models of Abnormality Models of Abnormality provide us a better understanding of abnormalities in individual’s behavior. Sometime in the past, people used to suggest that superstition and witchcraft as the primary cause of abnormal behavior but today those beliefs are no longer relevant as they are seen as unrealistic. Therefore, biological, psychological, and sociocultural models can be used to describe the factors leading to Susie's presenting behaviors such as avoidance, worry, nervousness, and fearfulness. Firstly, biological model, Susie showing extreme shy, worries about making mistakes in her schoolwork, and anxious can be contributed to Susie’s chemical deficiency, hormonal imbalance, or a brain injury. Susie could be suffering from psychological illness, and she can be treated like any other physical illness, and surgery or drugs can be used to correct the disease.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
