Please note that your logon name is the same as your banner logon id (which is also your my.stlcc.edu email
name).
From a Windows machine, you access our public Linux server, located at URL: fawad.stlcc.edu , as follows:
1) Download the putty.exe program located under the course content area of Blackboard. Putty is software
that provides client access (login) services using a number of protocols, including SSH (Secure Shell)
which is the logon protocol used by fawad (which is running CentOS).
- you may put putty on your desktop or in any folder you find convenient.
- launch putty to see a screen such as the following:
Make sure the SSH connection type is selected, and enter the URL: fawad.stlcc.edu

Once you click ‘open’ the logon screen for fawad should appear. If you get any warning messages about the
server being unknown, just select ‘yes’ to ‘trust’ the connection.
2) At the fawad logon screen give your banner/email user id, and the default password, which is changeme
(all one word, all lower case).
