Entrepreneurship and the Environment: ESM 274 A way of thinking about environmental issues—addressing the environmental/resource problem in a manner that is privately rewarding becomes the opportunity. This process can take place within large organizations and within new startups. Must define the problem and the opportunity precisely: Magnitude—size of the problem and size of the potential market. Clients—the target market. How the organization is benefitted. Private rates of returns. Recall that we must find private benefits to the provision of a public good. Need a plan that is opportunity driven, creative, and is sustainable.
