PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN Professional Development PlanThe professional development plan has become an essential part of today's knowledge-based society to sustain quality. As a result, leaders are now increasingly using Professional Development Plans (PDPs) to motivate and support their strategic planning. A PDP is used to encourage professional development and structure their development path regarding learning goals and plans of action. The results suggest that leaders are more capable of identifying their strengths and in formulating learning goals. In the pages to follow, I will outline elements about my PDP, including my goals, and work through by identifying my strengths and weaknesses including applying a timeline with benchmarks to measure success.Completing the DBA ProgramEarning a doctor degree is one of the highest honor is my journey of academic progress, not only I will be the first in my family to obtain that degree, similarly to teach my daughter the importance of education. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN MotivationReflecting on the motivation, I consider my thirst for knowledge to be my primary motivator, applying the knowledge to a problem or task that I may have. In my current role, I amconstantly placed in positions where I am asked to solve a problem without having any clear guidance or direction on how to accomplish the task. It challenges me to think outside of my normal field of ideas; to find and leverage resources that I have never thought I would utilize. My motivation drive me each day to continue along the path that I have defined in my PDP.Personal Learning NetworkTo help me achieve these goals, I will need support primarily from family and friends, and my Personal Learning Network (PLN). PLN is defined as collaborative learning within a virtual learning environment (Marin, 2014). These networks allow for an exchange of ideas and thoughts and create a supporting atmosphere that promotes encouragement for those involved.
