Lab 1: NCBI Overview Name: Instructions: Complete this exercise. Rename the file with your last name included in the file name (e.g. Biehl_Lab1.doc) and send it to bsbiehl@wisc.edu. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/ Part 1: Genomes at NCBI Click on Genomic Biology in the left hand pane (should look like the screenshot on the left side of this page). This link will bring you to the overview of all genomic projects as well as various tools and data available. On the right hand side of the screen you will see Genome Resources. This collection of links allows you to quickly access information on all sequenced and in progress genome projects for different types of organisms. Click on a type of organism under the Genome Projects Database link (seen in the screenshot to the right). This will bring you to a list of all the completed genome projects that have been deposited in NCBI. Questions: How many microbial genomes have been fully sequenced?
