In Ancient Egypt, there was The Eye of Horus as an all-seeing eye of God. Then religions like Christianity, Islam, and Judaism stated in different eras and places that there is a Godthat sees and knows all. This kept believers from committing any faults or sins, as they were indefinitely visible to God who will judge all after life on earth. However now, surveillance left the metaphysical and spiritual world and became institutionalized. This shifted the power from religion to human organizations like governments, news and media. This shift affected humanity negatively by constricting the ways of living to the definition of what people in power believe to be normal. A myriad of people born in this era only learned the knowledge of the ideals that were thought to be important by these people in power. The economic, political and social forces that drive people’s activity today has completely diverted from how it used to be. There are no more universities and educational institutions that drive people to dedicate their life to the quest of knowledge and self-virtue. The top universities around right now educate people in technical and practical fields that would secure a comfortablefinancial life ahead. What happened to seeking our purpose? We were gifted with a mind that is capable of pondering about life. Now all we do is train to secure a financially stable position, breed, and finally leave this world. We all know that one day we’re going 1
