The Cold WarBeginning in 1947, the Cold War was a physical, sociological, political, and idealogicalwar fought between the United States and the Soviet Union. The Cold War was a war that shapedthe world, especially Europe, and changed the primary influence all over the globe. It beganbecause of actions that had occurred in the pervious war, World War II, the difference ingovernment type and policy, and the threat that this posed to the United States. Some “weapons”that were used were spying, propaganda, diplomacy, secret operations, and fear.The Cold War began because there was residual anger from the Allies based on thechoices the Soviet Union, or Stalin, made during the war. For example, the United States wasupset that Stalin signed a nonaggression pact with Hitler in 1939, and that he had intended tokeep that pact if Hitler had not betrayed him. It raised the question whether the Soviet Unionfought with the Allies to defend the world or get revenge, and that uncertainty made it to hard tounderstand whether the Soviet Union is a trustworthy ally or not, or whether they can be trustedin the future to help with issues that don't concern them at all.Another reason the war began was because of the controversy of communism.
