D3 Demonstrate convergent/lateral/creative thinking Ideas have been generated and decisions taken. Problems have been solved. Creative thought has been applied. A reflective view on the written work and calculations has been presented and in some cases showing alternative approaches to solving the problems with creative thought on how the problems could be applied to real life situations to provide real life solutions.

In addition to the above PASS criteria, this assignment gives you the opportunity to submit evidence in order to achieve the following MERIT and DISTINCTION grades Grade Descriptor Indicative characteristic/s Contextualisation M1 Identify and apply strategies to find appropriate solutions Effective judgements have been made. An effective approach to study and research has been applied. Suitable c Task 1 – clear and concise knowledge is known about the process of solving the problems set and can be explained using correct language and vocabulary . Strategies have been applied to find the appropriate solution. M2 Select/design and apply appropriate methods/techniques Complex information/data has been synthesised and processed. Appropriate learning methods/techniques have been applied. Complex information has been used to determine parameters for immersed surfaces and centre of pressure. Use of parallel axis theorem for immersed rectangular and circular immersed surfaces has been demonstrated. The learner has clearly communicated information for devices such as hydraulic presses, hydraulic jacks; hydraulic accumulators and braking systems and can determine outputs for given inputs in a calculation. Also the data has been used correctly to obtain an accurate solution using appropriate methods and techniques.
