Margin: A paragraph must have a margin on the right and margin on the left. Spacing: A paragraph should be double spaced Indenting: The first sentence of a paragraph must be indented. 5 spaces in from the left margin. Shows the reader that a new paragraph is beginning. Title: A word of a group of words that tell what the topic is. Connected sentence Topic sentence: Introduce the topic and tells what the writer will say about the topic. Supporting sentence: The sentences that follow further explains and support the topic sentence. Concluding sentence: The concluding sentence repeats what the topic sentence say in a different way. A CONCLUDING SENTENCE MIGHT END WITH A: 1. A final thought 2. A call for action 3. Prediction 4. Question Narration: A story written to explain when what and who. It reveals what the reader should learn. Narrative paragraph: Tells a story. It has topic sentence, supporting sentence and concluding sentence.
