Tsarist Russia was the last of the European dynasties to fall. The Tsar's had become very unpopular in  the latter half of the 1800s due to home policies introduced by Alexander II, Alexander III and finally  Nicholas II. These policies had huge impacts on the Russian population, leading many to starvation, poor  living and working standards etc and protests began to increase in number.   In 1905 there was a Revolution and to avoid being thrown out of power, Nicholas II promised the people  that he would introduce a constitution and set up the Duma as a result of the October Manifesto.  However, Nicholas II slowly limited the Duma's powers, and by 1908 they were effectively without any  authority. In 1914, Russia entered the war. This is arguably because they had loaned a lot of money from  France to try and put Russia into an industrial revolution and to improve their diminished economy.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
