Socratic Seminar: Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison (25 points for written responses, 25 points for in-class discussion) Mr. Boskovich A.P. Literature and Composition Similar to our Camusian Socratic Seminar, the class will be organized in an inner-outer concentric-circle arrangement, with the inner students — Group A — going first with their prepared written responses, novels, and higher-level questions, while the outer circle — Group B — takes notes and observes one to two students; then, groups will reverse roles. Pre-selected table leaders will be responsible for tracking time, reading teacher-given questions, facilitating conversation, and keeping students focused and respectful. This is a completely student-led activity, so please be well prepared. Pre-Seminar Work: Prior to our seminar, you will be given open-ended questions from students in your circle and me. Be sure to have thoroughly answered the questions and have typed answers, notes, quotations, short quotations with page citations, and post-it’d pages so you are thoroughly equipped for the Invisible Man Socratic Seminar.
