Between public relations and advertising, one of the biggest differences is the cost. In public relations, the person in charge must find free publicity for the product through news conferences, public service announcements, and press releases. In advertising, they use a paid space to promote their ad in any way they choose. When determining a target audience, advertisers are able to work directly with their desired audience and get them hooked based off their interests. Public relations will have to work with the audience they have and be able to appeal to masses of different people.
