Milly Alburquerque His 102/16/2017On Commerce & TolerationIn the first three paragraphs Voltaire talks about commerce. What does he say about making money? Does he thinkit’s a good thing or a bad thing? What examples from the text make you think so?1. Voltaire talks about making money as a great thing, which it helps citizens and a nation to better itself. It has helped to free England and become a great nation; in little words commerce is a positive thing. He thinks it is a great thing, not only doesit bring more money into the nation and made it great but also it helped build a Navy which became one of the best at sea. Building the Navy made them stronger in the sense where they were able to send fleets to different locations of the world. An example from the text that lead me to think that it’s a good thing when they sent fleets to different parts of the world to prevent other countries from invading an island and to stopping a war.
