1. Aggregated computing capacity We assume that 20 instructors have class each day from Monday to Friday. If they run out of processing capacity, the total capacity used is 36GHz. Therefore, the utilization rate of process is 36/180=0.2. But if we use central computer which processing capacity is 36GHz, the utilization rate is 100%. Central computer is more profitable. Another index is storage capacity. If we assume that each instructor use 15GB for course slides and 60GB for associated software, the total storage for course slides and associated software are 1500GB and 6000GB. If we use central computer, the storage of course slides are constant but the storage of associated software is 60GB because instructors use same associated software. Probably, we just need a 1600GB storage capacity for central computer. Central computer is more to save storage. If less instructors have class each day or each instructor use less processing capacity then 1.8GHz or each instructor use less storage then 75GB, the profit of use central computer will increase.
