4step sedimentary formation: Weathering, Erosion/transport(shape, composition, sorting), deposition, lithofication Clastic Agents&rocks(Classified via particle size): Physical(feldspar, quartz, micas) and Chemical(Clay). Shale(deep ocean, lakes, floodplains), Sandstone(deserts, beaches, rivers), conglomerate/breccia(rivers,alluvial fans, landslides) Deposition: Particle size: closer to source, the courser the grain. Steep mountain: large rocks(pebbles, cobbles, boulders) or gentle, slow moving river: Finer grained(silt, mud, clay) Sedimentary cover: Veneer thickness: 0-20km. Basement: igneous&metamorphic Sedimentary structures: Kaibab limestone, toroweap formation, Coconino sandstone, hermit shale, supai group. Depositional Environments: 1.terrestrial:glacial, mountain stream, river and stream, lake, desert 2.transitional:deltas, beaches 3.marine:shallow marine carbonates, coral reefs, continental slope, deep sea sediments Igneous->sedimentary->metamorphic. Cross beds form via: Ripple and dune migration Metamorphic processes: 1.Recrystallization:minerals change size&shape (limestone->marble) 2.Neocrystallization:New minerals

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
