STRANGER AND INTIMATE VIOLENCE 2 Stranger and Intimate Violence Introduction The crime rate in the world has increased in the recent day due to several factors such as increased population, increased level of poverty, and poor law enforcers. Stranger violence involves a relationship where the victim identifies the offender as the stranger because he/she did not get the chance to recognize the offender either by sight or by name. On the other hand, intimate violence is a crime that is caused by a partner. One partner in the relationship possibly hurts the other either emotionally or physically. Intimate violence involves partners such as husbands, wives, ex-boyfriend, ex-husband, and boyfriends. Intimate violence is often called domestic violence because it includes emotional abuse, sexual abuse as well as physical violence to another partner. Domestic violence in the United States is very rampant because at least 5 million women are estimated to experience domestic violence each year (Logan, Cole, & Capillo, 2007). Therefore, centervale’s law enforcers should be educated on how to handle violence crimes, especially with the victims. The curriculum should be revised so that to handle all crimes and victims bearing in the mind that the technology is changing causing even methods of training to change or crimes scenarios to be different than the past. This document will attempt to look at how the curriculum can be developed to help centervale’s law enforcer to deal with crime victims. The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
