CONFLICTING VIEWPOINTS ESSAY GUN CONTROL - PART I
2
Point of View
Gun control is at the forefront of a lot of conversations among Americans.
Almost every
day there is a talking point on the news or an act of gun violence that transpires that stirs the
debate further.
There are persuasive arguments that both sides of the issue can lay out their case.
My point of view is there is no need for gun control.
However, for the purpose of this paper I
will share views from the other side of the gun control argument by utilizing the believing game
prospective.
According to Elbow (n.d.) “It’s the disciplined practice of trying to be as
welcoming as possible to every idea we encounter.”
It is vital to listen to views from people who
hold a different opinions than your own and attempt to believe them yourself.
