The design phase is basically the way in which a system will be built. During this phase, the system requirements are taken and converted into the building blocks of the to-be system. The design phase touches various aspects of the system to-be. Some of the aspects include the physical hardware, software, and communication methods that will satisfy the systems essential requirements. The requirements that were determined in the analysis stage will then be implemented as system requirements within the system. These system requirements will describe the technical details of the system using case and logical process and data models which will essentially create the blueprint of the system. Before the final blueprint is produced, the design phase undergoes various activities including the initial examination of system acquisition strategies that will be used to meet the defined requirements. Systems can be designed from scratch, purchased and customized or outsourced to others. Once the project team identifies which nonfunctional business requirements and considers them carefully, they continue to implement the design phase by specifying access restrictions and identifying needs for encryption, authentication and virus control. Architecture decisions are simultaneously made regarding the hardware and software that will be purchased to support the new system and then documented in what will be referred to as the hardware and software specification.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
