1. Work System Definition and Special Cases Definition .  The central idea in work system theory (WST) is that “work system” is a  natural unit of analysis for thinking about systems in organizations. In organizational  settings, work is the application of human, informational, physical, and other resources  to produce products/services. A work system is a system in which human participants and/or machines perform work  (processes and activities) using information, technology, and other resources to  produce specific products/services for specific internal and/or external  customers.  Typical business organizations contain work systems that procure materials from suppliers, produce products, deliver products to customers, find customers, create  financial reports, hire employees, coordinate work across departments, and perform  many other functions. It is possible to think of an organization as a set of work systems. Many information systems, such as accounting

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
