Chapter 12 #1.The three GUIs that I have chosen to answer this programming exercise are MS word, a game that I may play on my PS4 (an action rpg such as ‘The Witcher 3’ for instance), and the basic operation of navigating through a file storage system on a Windows 10 OS (creating folders and organizing pictures). MS office is essentially a chief authority on simplistic user interface. From navigating through the options of document formats that one may need, to running basic word processing actions, the simplistic design gets the job done, and allows the user to freely create their work as needed. The way that this description falls in line with this chapters conformity, is where the text explains that aninterface should be “…Attractive, easy to read, and non-distracting…” (522). Of course as MS word moves into the future, it does have added interface features that seem to crowd at first, but the ease of accessis undeniably in line with the text. As far as any game one would play on a console such as the PS4 oreven a PC based game, the user interface is most often initiated sometime after an intro screen of sorts.
