(2006) Cognition: Exploring the science of the mind. W.W. Norton. Purpose : This class is designed to give you an overview of the field of cognitive psychology. In general, cognitive psychologists study the processes and workings of human thought. We will, therefore, look at a wide range of topics including our understandings of the processes underlying perception, attention, memory, language, and problem-solving. Grading : Your grade in this class will be based on your score on 3 exams. Each exam will be equally weighted. The exams will focus on the material in the section preceding the exam.
