Church Emma Church English 15 A Mr. Perez October 3, 2007 Black, white, and pink; these are the only colors that you will find in the Candies Foundation’s magazine ads. “Not really the way you pictured your first crib, huh?” then the ad shows a picture of a basic white crib. That’s it; the ad just asks you a question. Why would they ask you a question? To grab your attention, to get a message across, to help you? Yes that is exactly why this ad works. It also gives you a little of information about teen pregnancy and the cost of raising a baby. It’s not a fancy ad that has many colors or beautiful models on the page. The reason it works is because it is simple and as the cliché goes is in black and white. Emotions, everyone has them, some people’s emotions can be pulled on easier than others but everyone feels them just the same. When you first read this ad, it is a bit of a shocker. It states that “Raising a baby can cost over $10,000 a year; one night could cost you more than you think.” Stress is an emotion and for some people money causes them to feel stressed, especially if they don’t have enough money to care for a baby which is what this statement
