Attention Gainer - Hello class, today we will inform you about German culture. (This will be spoken in German) B. Reason to Listen – To increase the class’s cultural awareness. C. Speaker Credibility - Taken from reliable, trustworthy sources that are either primary or secondary accounts of German traditions. D. Thesis Statement - Today, we will inform you about Germany’s rich cultural atmosphere which has evolved slowly over the centuries. E. Preview Main Points - We will examine some of the world's most popular holidays and traditions that trace back to German history, as well as its art, architecture, and educational system. II. Body A. Main Point # 1 (Jimmy’s section) - Germany is not only avid celebrators of several well-known holidays and traditions such as Oktoberfest, but also has been the birthplace of Easter. 1. (Sub-Point # 1) Unknown to many Easter originated in Germany in the mid-2nd century, The Easter egg is a symbol of the pagan Mother Goddess, even bearing one of her names: Easter.
