Anne Huynh July 28, 2008 Vinh Dang Ben Lee Tania Gomez Buoyancy and Specific Density Purpose: Buoyancy and specific density of a couple different objects was the main focus of this lab. Through different equations we found relations between factors such as density, the mass of the substance, the volume of the substance, and the specific density. Density is important because the density of an object will stay the same, and therefore, is a strong key component of each individual object. Summary: Lead's Specific Density (g/cm 3 ) % Error Aluminum's Specific Density (g/cm 3 ) % Error Actual: 11.3 5.1 Actual: 2.72 1.5 Theoretical: 10.72 Theoretical: 2.76 The part of the lab that we were told to complete was to find the specific density of sinking solids, which were lead and aluminum.
