E-mail: jcollins@pace.edu Required Text: The Art of Watching Film (7 th edition) McGraw-Hill ISBN 978007353074 Getting and Watching the Films: You will need a membership at Netflix or some other company to insure that you have the films when you need to see them. I recommend you get a plan where you have access to at least 4 films at a time, so that you always have 2 weeks worth of films. If you don’t get the film on time and miss a deadline, you will receive a zero. All of these films are widely available. If you say “I could not get the film,” you will re- ceive a failing grade for that assignment. It is your responsibility to get and watch the films on time. No excuses will be accepted. Film List: Annie Hall Dir. Woody Allen (1977) The Sweet Hereafter Dir. Atom Egoyan (1997) Blade Runner Dir. Ridley Scott (1982) Raging Bull Dir. Martin Scorcese (1980) O Brother, Where Art Thou? Dirs. Ethan and Joel Coen (2000) The Piano Dir. Jane Campion (1993) The Ice Storm Dir. Ang Lee (1997) Do the Right Thing Dir. Spike Lee (1989)
