The new manager of staffing, training and development, David Martin, has recently discovered that the company’s negligence when hiring potential applicant through a third party employment agency. He faces a number issues relating to with filling five new plant positions. The major issues include: integration of human resource policies and procedures, specifically, staffing, Additionally, Martin faces the companies liability in hiring illegal workers which is a violation of the Immigration and Reform and Control Act of 1986. Student analysis of the case study: The major issue facing Martin is the appearance of negligence in the companies hiring practices. Currently, the company relies on an employment agency to fill labor positions. Instead of verifying the employment status, his is told not to worry about the employment status of the new employees.
