Brooklynn Bass Peacock HIS 112 May 2, 2017 Out of the many dreadful wars that the world has gone through, none have been as devastating as World War II. What sparked this such a devastating event in our history? World War II had three major causes which were Germany’s anger over the Versailles Treaty, the peace efforts after World War I failed, and the goals of Germany’s dictator, Hitler. The first cause of World War II was Germany’s anger over the Versailles Treaty. Germany was very irate over two things that the treaty stated. The first being that they lost important territories that had acquired. On the French-German border, Germany lost two cities and as per Wilson’s thirteenth point, Poland was rehabilitated and given access to the Baltic Sea. It should be known that the Baltic Sea went through Germany. Giving Poland access to the Baltic Sea split Germany into two parts. There was the main part of Germany, and a small portion of the Danzig corridor in the North. Italy was another country that was heated over the Versailles Treaty.
