Matt Koziol CES 101, Section 3 RTR #2 The strides that the United States has made for racial social justice are extreme, but by no means finished. I do believe that individual racism is on the way out of America. Having said this, there are still very few people of color residing in powerful positions in this country. This is the idea of racism as a system. There needs to be a rise for a social movement to address these overlooked, oppressive systems. This is going be difficult given the existing political and economic systems and the people/families already in power. The only way I see it happening is if people of color are place into positions of power, which includes wealth. Call it a hunch, but I think there would be some opposition to this idea. The people already in power aren’t going to be willing step down or even share the power. Also, there is a pattern of this power being used to get their children and other family into power. I do think time will help this problem, but not without action. Another problem is that people can’t see how racism and capitalism are
