POETRY ESSAY 3The Road Not TakenRobert Frost is arguably one of the most well known authors in history. Frost uses metaphoric language beautifully to describe a situation that everyone faces on numerous occasions during his or her lifetime. This is one of Frost’s and literatures most analyzed pieces. There are several ways to interpret the figurative meaning of the poem depending on the point of view of the person doing the analysis. In an attempt to bring a fresh and unique analysis, this paper approaches the interpretation of the poem from a Christian worldview. The Road Not Taken tells of the struggle a Christian faces when choosing between following God’s way or following the way of the world.Literal MeaningStanza one sets the scene and describes the situation facing the narrator of the poem. It is fall, and he has been walking through the woods when he comes to a fork in the road. He takes the time to examine one path as far as he can see and regrets not being able to travel both. In the next stanza, he examines the second path.
